The shape of a butterfly’s wings has been abstracted and simplified to create a pleasingly dynamic, yet soothing and contemporary silhouette. This shape has been used to create the upholstered pads that form the headboard and footboard of the Papillon bed.
The bed itself has a robust metal frame and stands elevated by 2 inches from the ground to allow for cleaning underneath. The mattress support ply boards which also act as the lids for the storage box, are attached to each other with hinges. And the plys also have handles on them. These two features allow for easier access. The mattress can be shifted to either side and the plys can be lifted up easily using the handles.
